Our Electrocardiogram (EKG) Technician program is designed to teach noninvasive aspects of interpreting and monitoring the cardiovascular system.

The demand for EKG technicians is expected to grow at a rate of 24% throughout 2019 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
To obtain employment, potential employers may require a background check, driving record check, and/or drug testing.

Students will learn basic cardiovascular technology, medical terminology, professional ethics, HIPAA compliance, and meticulous CDC established infection control procedures. You will have the ability to identify and distinguish between various heart impulses and the correct placement of electrodes. You will also be introduced to legal and ethical issues in the healthcare field, as well as Holter monitoring and stress testing.

There are just three requirements to graduate and get started on your career in healthcare.
When these requirements have been satisfied, a Certificate of Completion and official transcript will be issued. Excel Academy graduates may wish to independently pursue National Certification.
